Welcome to our Web site!

We're Newspaper Taxi, a classic rock band that plays music primarily from the '60s, or as some would call them, the good old days. We've taken the "unplugged" approach, meaning our primary instruments are acoustic guitars, which we think makes us somewhat unique. Greg plays 6- and 12-string acoustic guitars, electric guitar, and keyboards, Bob plays 6-string acoustic guitar, electric guitar, bass, keyboards and helps with lead vocal duty and organizes our three-part harmonies, and Jim, that's me, well I play 6-string acoustic guitar, harmonica, incidental percussion (tambourine, maracas, claves, and bongos), and handle most of the lead vocals.

Most of what we play are Beatles' songs but we also cover songs by The Rolling Stones, Creedence Clearwater Revival, The Byrds, Simon & Garfunkel, Jim Croce, Van Morrison, The Band, The Boxtops and Grand Funk Railroad. We've tried to be true to the music as much as possible because we believe that you, like us, want to hear it the way you remember it. Of course, everything we do will sound a little different because, as much as we'd like to, we can't sound exactly like the Beatles nor any of the other bands we cover because we're us and they're them and because some elements of the original recordings just aren't there, like drums, synthesizers, or full orchestras. For us, the main thing is that we're playing music we love and we hope you'll be among those who like it, too.

Having said that, here's how the Web site works. I've tried to keep it user friendly by keeping it simple. If you want to know about us, click on About Us. It doesn't get any more complicated than that. I've also included some Pictures of us in various situations. Some are from a private party, others are from two recording sessions, and there is probably an odd one or two (pictures, not band members) in the bunch. Our Song List is just a hyperlink away, and our Schedule is available, also. Of course, as time goes on, the Web site will be updated and expanded.

If you're having a party and want to have Newspaper Taxi play, all you have to do is either e-mail us at info@newspapertaxi.com, call me (my phone number is at the bottom of each page on this site), or use the US Mail (our post office box is also shown at the bottom of each page).

We'd love to hear from you. You can let us know what songs you'd like to hear us play (or not play), give us a critique of a past performance, comment on the Web site (please, be gentle), or just say Hi! You can e-mail me by clicking here. See? Simple. (It sort of comes naturally...)

Thanks for taking time out of your day to visit our site. We do appreciate it and we hope to see you soon!
